Sherry Marzano Joins ASTP as VP - Controller.

American Student Transportation Partners welcomes a new member to our leadership team. We are proud to announce that Sherry Marzano has joined ASTP as VP - Controller.
Sherry comes to ASTP with over two decades of accounting and finance experience. She most recently spent 16 years in progressive leadership roles for a top manufacturer in the baking industry. While her most recent experience there involved leading the corporate finance function during its transition to private equity ownership, she also spent many years partnering with the operations function, providing insight to explain results and support business decisions. Prior to that she worked in the accounting department for a manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients and in public accounting.
Sherry earned a BA in International Politics from Penn State, a BS in Accounting from DeSales University, and an MBA from Saint Joseph’s University. She holds active CPA licenses in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
ASTP announces Jeff Ellis has been promoted to Chief People Officer.

Jeff is a leader and executive with a 30-year track record of coaching people for improved performance and helping companies meet their potential. He has broad industry experience in the transportation, environmental services, healthcare, and utility industries and has served in multiple functional areas including human resources, safety & risk management, operations, and sales.
Jeff’s career started in the environmental services industry where he had roles in regulatory compliance consulting, led plant level Health, Safety & Environmental programs for a privately held waste management company and later transitioned into a field sales role growing a territory from zero to almost $4M in revenues. Leveraging the waste management industry experience Jeff moved into a broader risk management and safety role as a Sr. Consultant for the environmental insurance unit of XL Capital Ltd. In this client facing role Jeff worked closely with underwriting and risk management staff on a $27M book of 55 accounts assisting customers in the transportation, chemical and environmental sectors to improve their safety and risk management programs and reduce claims and losses.
In 2005 Jeff entered the transportation business when he was recruited to Student Transportation of America, Inc. and served as the Corporate Director of HR, Risk Management & Safety. Jeff participated on due diligence and integration teams for 15 acquisitions in the U.S. and Canada. Under Jeff’s leadership vehicle and workers compensation claims and losses were reduced by more than 10%. Jeff also led development and implementation of new leadership development and training programs and developed a corporate recruiting program that doubled driver candidates in key markets with shortages.
In 2008 Jeff was recruited to TransCare a NY based regional ambulance and paratransit company, serving as the Vice President Human Resources, Risk Management & Safety. Jeff led employee engagement and process improvement initiatives that that resulted in a 44% reduction in injury and illness rates and 55% reduction in incurred workers compensation losses. Jeff also designed and led union avoidance efforts resulting in five company wins during large union organizing campaigns in New York City operations. Jeff’s and his HR team initiated systemic changes in the Company’s talent acquisition technology platform and screening practices that reduced annual hiring costs by $250k and decreased employee turnover by more than 10%.
In 2015, Jeff transitioned to the power generation and utilities business working first in Exelon’s nuclear power generation unit and later at the company’s Baltimore Gas & Electric utility operations. In both roles Jeff led Human Resources teams and projects focused on employee and labor relations, employee engagement, and talent excellence. Key roles within Exelon included Jeff’s leadership for the successful talent redeployment process for the closure of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Station and a leadership role on the negotiating committee for a first contract between the 1,400 member IBEW Local 410 and Baltimore Gas & Electric.
Jeff earned a BS in Environmental Sciences at Wesley College and an MBA from Georgian Court University. He is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resource (SPHR) through HRCI.

American Student Transportation Partners welcomes a new member to our leadership team. We are proud to announce that Tod Eskra has joined ASTP as President and Chief Growth Officer.
Tod is an accomplished executive across multiple industries including software, transportation services, and facilities management.Tod comes to ASTP from Facilities Management as their Senior Vice President where he had cross-functional responsibilities for sales, marketing, and information technology.
Tod also had roles as Chief Operating Officer for REI Group, a leading cloud-based real estate investing software company. He worked at ADP - Global Enterprise Solution as a Director where he led and coached sales strategy for penetrating enterprise clients in the national accounts space.
Tod’s career started with Enterprise Fleet Management where he spent over 15 years in his last role as Assistant Corporate Vice President of Northeaster Operations. Tod earned a Bachelor of Science, in Accountancy from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

The Heroes Studio bus was developed by Krise Transportation, Inc. to document and tell stories for and about school bus drivers. The stories celebrate these everyday heroes and shines a light on school bus drivers who are HERE, EVERDAY, READY, ON-TIME EXCEPTIONAL, AND SAFE. Alex Lutz has joined ASTP as Senior Financial Planning Analyst and Anne Marie Moore as Senior Business Analyst.

American Student Transportation Partners welcomes two new members to our leadership team. We are proud to announce that Alex Lutz has joined ASTP as Senior Financial Planning Analyst and Anne Marie Moore as Senior Business Analyst.
Alex comes to ASTP from Legal & General Investment Management of America where he worked as their Financial Analyst. In his role at Legal & General, Alex ran the company's forecasting, reporting, and financial modeling efforts. Prior to working at Legal & General, Alex worked for six years at Vanguard in a number of capacities within their finance department. Alex earned his B.S. in Finance at the University of Delaware and his MBA at Penn State University.
Anne Marie comes to ASTP from AAA Mid-Atlantic where she held progressively responsible roles in their customer contact and servicing, dispatch, and IT departments. Anne is an experienced IT professional with over twelve years of experience in business analysis and change management. She began her career at AAA as a part-time dispatcher to allow her to pursue her college degree. During her tenure at AAA, she gained perspective and business knowledge by working in multiple departments and earning both an MBA and J.D. from Temple University.
Both Alex and Anne Marie will play an integral role in the growth of American Student Transportation. Welcome, Alex and Anne Marie – we’re excited to have you join our team!
